“ So glad we randomly found this gem of a restaurant! The service was top notch from the first phone call (safe for peanut allergy sufferers!). 2nd phone call, our last-minute reservation request was accommodated! Micah was a darling. Beautiful space; nice, quiet romantic spot. The food was impeccable. Get the bread with the "really good olive oil." When they say #noknifeneeded for the short rib, they meant it. Yum. We will be back on Saturday morning for the eggs Benny's! ”
“ Food was delicious! They offer gluten free pasta, buns and pizza crust. I have celiac and they made sure to take the extra precautions so the food was safe for me to eat. Great flavor. Creme brulee was so so good! Our waitress was very friendly and sweet. ”

“ VERY doggie friendly! Lovely outside patio and a little cup of dog treats to show how much they love having them visit! DELICIOUS food made it even better! I had the fried chicken sandwich which was moist, flavorful and worth the short prep time wait. My husband had the Cuban sandwich that was nicely seasoned but the panini bread hurt his already sore roof of his mouth (not their fault!). My iced latte washed it all down well. Wish we lived closer because I’d go back often! ”
“ Stopped in for a solo lunch before heading home from the island. Was told they had the best chicken sandwich in the entire world by my brother, and well, they did. Huge piping hot crispy chicken thigh with slaw and pickle. Perfectly toasted bun w/ aioli. Lavender vanilla latte, hibiscus tea, creme brulee...all 10/10. I would recommend this gem of a restaurant to anyone in the Galveston area. I will never come to the island and not stop in for a bite. Service was excellent, atmosphere was perfectly cozy. Do yourself a favor and run, dont walk to Gonzalo’s! ”
“ This place has all 5 stars for a good reason! The owners are very friendly and the food is great. We had the eggs Benedict and waffle breakfast plate. Benedict sauce was spot on, the scrambled eggs were fluffy and the waffle was crispy outside and fluffy inside without being chewy. Really good food. This goes in our list of restaurants to return to. ”
